MS Online - POP3 simple migration guide
Whilst aimed at US partners of course (as the service is only live in the US at present) I think Australian partners investigating MS Online will be interested in this post from the MS Online product team blog:
https://blogs.technet.com/msonline/archive/2008/11/24/pop3-simple-migration-guide.aspx
It gives a whole bunch of 'next level' insight into how the trials will work (in the US model - locally there could be differences of course with our proposed Telstra alliance) and how you'd migrate POP3 mailboxes into the service.
Remember to read my post on next steps for Australian partners on MS Online.

I hope no-one's stupid enough to do a mailbox migration over a Next-G connection. That will get very expensive, very quickly.
