MSDN Magazine January 2007 now available online

The January 2007 issue of MSDN Magazine is now available online.  This issue is chock full of great content, a large chunk of which focuses on developing for Windows Vista.  Chris Corio starts off the feature well with an in-depth look an User Access Control (UAC) and what it means for you when moving your apps to Windows Vista.  Stephen Toub introduces preview handlers for Windows Vista and Outlook 2007 and shows how to write them in managed code with a special framework he wrote for the purpose.  Jeffrey Richter provides an overview of Windows SideShow and shows how to write new gadgets for it. Dan Griffin has a great article on Windows Vista credential providers.  And Julie Allen, Michael Kaplan, and Cathy Wissink provide an overview of what's new in Unicode 5.0 and detail how support for it has been added to Windows Vista.

In addition to Vista-focused content, we also have a few new columns in this issue.  The wonderful Charles Petzold is back in the pages of MSDN Magazine with our new Foundations column, showing how to build really cool and interesting templates for WPF controls.  And Brian Randell is in this issue with his new Team System column, focusing this month on interacting with Team Foundation Server and its version control APIs.

On top of all that, there are an additional nine articles and columns, including pieces by Keith Brown, Fritz Onion, Dino Esposito, and more.

Definitely worth the time to read through all this goodness.

Enjoy!

-Stephen
