Announcing the Windows 8 Boost
Windows 8 releases October 26 and it's a great opportunity for student developers to create new apps and publish them through the new App Store. We want to reward those of you who are diving in and so we're very pleased to announce the new Windows 8 Boost.
At our worldwide finals next July in St. Petersburg, our first, second, and third place winners who include a Windows 8 Store App in their project will earn an extra $1,000 for their team!
So if you're submitting a project to the Windows Phone Challenge, for example, consider adding a Windows 8 Store App version to your project. It could be a full port, or just share and display useful data, or offer some other form of networked interaction with your project. If you're one of our three winners in that challenge, your team will earn an extra thousand dollars thanks to the Windows 8 Boost.
(This is open to all competitions and challenges except the Windows 8 Challenge, since that would be redundant!)
We're really looking forward to seeing your great projects in St. Petersburg. And if you make a Windows 8 Store App, your team could earn the thousand-buck boost! Please see the official rules for details.
Good luck and happy coding!
