What do you do day-to-day as an IT Administrator?
I am getting ready to create several short screencasts on Windows Server 2008 R2 that talk about the benefits to administrators with R2. There are quite a few. I want to create a list of stuff you do everyday, so I can focus the screencast topics. I think I have a pretty good list, but let me know if I am off the mark. My list of topics is below.
So I have three questions for all of you and please email me any suggestions or comment:
Topics:
- Installing and upgrading to Windows Server 2008R2
- Adding server roles and functionality
- Powershell common administrative tasks
- User and Group maintenance
- Directory Management and Replication
- Group Policy
- Folder Security, Access and Replication
- Security auditing
- Printers setup and configuration
- Backup and Recovery
- Disk management and storage
- Web server and maintenance
- Troubleshooting:
- DNS
- IP
- DHCP Configuration
- Managing Server Remote Access
- Maintaining your Virtual Servers
- Performance tuning and monitoring
- Installing and configuring new hardware and software
