Smartphones to catch up to Moore's Law

As reported on Smartphone Thoughts, HTC is working on a new version of the Excalibur called Cavalier. I can see it coming together now, my dream device.

Checkout the features:

"HTC has loaded it up with a 400MHz Samsung CPU! Can you say fast? If that wasn't reason enough to be excited, then I'm sure the Quad-Band (GSM/GPRS/EDGE) with UMTS (2100/850/1900), HSDPA and WiFi 802.11b/g will get your attention. No? Ok, how about 128MB ROM, 64MB RAM, Bluetooth 2.0, 2.4 inch 320x240 screen, 2 mega-pixel camera, and a 1050mAh battery all packed into a package that's just a little larger than the Excalibur."

The 400mhz is something that I've been asking for, for a long long time now. I can't wait!

I've got one of these in the HTC Tytn branding and it's very cool. UI could do with some more unified organisation but it's fast, responsive and packed with features. http://www.damieng.com/blog/archive/2006/09/04/The-HTC-TyTN-smartphone-reviewed.aspx if you're interested. [)amien

Hi Damien, yeah I have that too but it's a Pocket PC. very much larger than the Excalibur that i'm using. I'm a T9 "phone first" fan :) on that note, the PocketPC should move to 600mhz or more. we haven't been moving forward for a while. We can blame it all on the advances (or lack) of the battery.
