Unified Communications - My Demo Environment
I have not posted for a while - since RTM of OCS things have been very busy.
Lots of people ask me what I am running in my demo environment. Well I run all my servers on one laptop in VPC.
The laptop I run on has 2Gb of Ram and running the servers in VPC is not lightening quick but allows me to run the demo fairly well.
There are 4 servers in the environment
1 OCS 2007 Standard Edition
1 Exchange 2007 server (32bit Eval version) running the following roles ( MBX, HT, CAS and UM)
1 MOSS 2007 server - not totally necessary but allows me to show Message Records Management and presence in Sharepoint
1 Mediation server - this allows me to break out to analog phones to show integration with existing telephony
I also have an audiocodes box that allows the analog phones to integrate with OCS
I intend to post the configurations and how I have set them up so that you can do the same if need be
This allows me to show pretty much everything that needs to be shown Presence/IM/Video and voice.
If anyone has seen my demos you will know that I am more and more not using this environment as I am able to do everything if not more with my production laptop connecting back to the Microsoft servers. But every now and then I need this when Internet access is unavailable.

Presence in the Communicator 2007 client is great, but SharePoint gets the send-to-email address wrong (tries to use SIP address) and the Office shared workspace gets it wrong (tries to use email address for SIP address). Any ideas?
