Mobile 6

I don't really talk a lot about Mobile and the way it integrates with Exchange 2007. I simply take it for granted that I can triage my email on my device. But every now and again when out at events etc I realise lots of people are not doing this - so when I got my hands on a new HTC Touch via Steve (boy I wish I had his contacts).  I thought I better blog about it

Firstly the touch is a really cool piece of kit - I cannot really give a full appraisal as I only had it for 30 minutes - but I liked it a lot and found the touchflo very good.

But more importantly it reminded me of why Mobile 6 is great for email - here are some of the enhancements over 5

Search - Mobile 6 now lets you actually search for mail like you do in Outlook 2007/Exchange 2007. Brilliant -  the amount of times I have only had my mobile and needed to find a phone number tucked away in an email on the server. Mobile 6 solves this for me

HTML mail - rendered correctly no more emails on your devices with a load of hyperlinks - now the email is beautifully rendered

Calendars - much better - the ablility to see attendees

Smart filters - really cool

Really cool stuff if you just want to check it out you can get emulators here

Hi Julian, I actually think WM6 comes into it's own on the standard edition devices.   The pocket outlook shortcuts through the keypad and fetchmail really speed up email triage and means that my e650 (HTC vox-alike) is actually my email reader of choice these days. Now if I coudl just find a dataplan that doesn't charge for communicator usage I'd be really happy.
