Want to develop for Windows Mobile?
There are some great resources available for developers that if you aren't aware of yet - they could be of great help!
First off there are the Windows Mobile Starter Kits which are complete, fully-functional sample applications. Each one contains its own documentation—so developers can get started right away. Over the past year we created several Starter Kits, including a Home Screen Alarm Plug-in, a Tic-Tac-Toe game, and a Skiing game.
These Starter Kits demonstrate several key development scenarios, including:
· How to develop a Win32 Smart Device application in native C++.
· How to create and enable ink objects to allow a user to write ink strokes on the user interface by using the IInkOverlay interface.
· How to enable handwriting recognition by using the IInkDisp and IInkStrokes interfaces.
· How to use dialog boxes, controls, and resources.
· How to create flexible UI elements that supports portrait, landscape, and square-screen orientations and form factors, and at various DPIs.
· How to use ScreenLib to make controls screen size-aware and orientation-aware.
· How to retrieve information from the Windows Mobile registry.
· How to create a shortcut to the settings page.
· How to use the Home Screen APIs.
· How to program with COM in native code.
· How to program in Managed code.
· And much more!
