ASAP - What does that really mean!?

I had a wonderful Christmas break (as I hope you all did) and I'm busily working my way through the backlog of emails and incoming actions/communciations I received while I was off.

Going through all my emails and actions there is one theme that really is frustrating me and that is people sending requests to do things and asking for it ASAP..  anyone else find this?

Now ASAP as we all know means As Soon As Possible.... which is a tricky term when I'm never sure if they mean As Soon As Possible for ME... or As Soon as Possible for THEM

I'm a very conscientious guy and always like to make sure I meet deadlines and timelines people need me to meet however it's always hard when you don't get given any...

So my standard response to people who do ask me to do things ASAP is to ask for a specific deadline otherwise I can give them an idea of when I can do it :)
