Where are all the WPF Applications?
Whilst soaking of some Vista goodness at the last Vista Squad event one of the attendees asked where all the WPF applications were saying that he'd not heard of any "real" apps. That inspired me to write this post to let you know that WPF apps are alive and kicking. Here are some of my favourites:
Notescraps Digital Notes on your desktops
https://www.notescraps.com
ThoughtTex Digital Mindmapping
https://www.thoughtex.net/Paperboy WPF RSS Reader
https://www.codeplex.com/paperboyNOSTALGIA Yahoo! Flickr Browser and Photo Manager
https://www.thirteen23.com/work/nostalgia/index.html)Zurich Airport Control Tower Visualisation
https://wpf.netfx3.com/direct/zurich/zeuswpf.xbap
And there's plenty more where that came from, here are my sources for the apps:
https://channel9.msdn.com/wiki/default.aspx/WPF.ApplicationPortfolio
https://windowsclient.net/community/showcase.aspx
https://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-gb/netframework/bb330852.aspx
Know any other sources or apps? Let me know!

Hi Mikkel Cool app! How about using Live Images as a source too? :-) Where are you based? Drop me an email (see contact page) and we can have a chat. Cheers JamesAnonymous

Thanks Alex - looks cool, quite a niche app I would imagine but good to see it being done in WPF :-) Does the app complement what Media Player does with album art? HamesAnonymous

Here's another real WPF app for you, if you are interested. It's a rewrite of a previous WinForms app, for finding cover art for music. http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?s=&showtopic=51896&view=findpost&p=478131Anonymous

www.JpgTV.com is another real WPF app. It is also using Click Once Deployment. JpgTV is a Browser App. focusing only on searching and displaying internet images and integrates search expression with iTunes playlist.Anonymous

James Senior - I suppose that depends what you mean by 'complement'. Media Player will display cover art that is stored as Folder.jpg in the same folder as the music, and AlbumArtDownloader can save covers it finds as Folder.jpg in that folder, so I suppose in that sense it complements it! It is mainly designed for use with media players which do not have their own source of album art, although it can be occasionally useful when WMP can't find a cover, or selects the wrong cover; international editions might have different covers, for example.Anonymous

Hi James www.jpgtv.com is now using Live images as well. It's definitely my favorite JpgTV image search provider at the moment. Great search results! Have a look. Tom ErikAnonymous
