You Know You Have Been in HR Too Long When...

HR intrudes on your life. I was trying to decide if this was going to be one post with lots of comments or a tag/category. Definitely a tag/category. Because I hope that some of my colleagues participate. And the rest of you can laugh at us. Anyhoo, kicking it off with this one (which made me think of it in the first place):

You know you have been in HR too long when you are on a date and you give feedback. Oh honeys....it's in my blood.

Haha. Those are like Yo Mamma jokes... Separate and random question. I know your a big proponent and advocate of The Ladders. I like them too. I am considering using their resume writing service. Its costly but I am sure the ROI is even better. Any thoughts? Have you seen resumes written by them?

Wine-Oh, I haven't really had any experience with their resume writing referrals. There isn't a way for me to tell which resumes came via that service and which were written by individuals.  I would only use a service if you really feel that you can't do it yourself. Anyone who has used that service want to provide some "feedback"? (Haha)

Yea....I find myself doing the feedback thing too. When I've gone on dates I really have to be carefull because all too often I want to say "let me give you some feedback"...because first dates are a lot like interviews...m'eh.

...you consider picking up girls (or guys, whatever you like) as recruiting and you refer to them as candidates. ...you regularly use terms like "win-win", "cost/benefit", "leverage", "strategy", etc. with everyone. Oh wait, that may be when you've been in consulting for too long...

Hey Andy, speaking of "the love", just saw that your facebook status changed. Go Andy! Ian - even I am not that bad. I don't do the first and I only do the second with extreme sarcasm and/or those bunny ears quotation mark things.
