Politics and Technology Forum: Campaigning Online
Last week (26 February), Microsoft Australia hosted its second annual Forum at Parliament House Canberra, attended by more than 150 Parliamentarians, bureaucrats, bloggers and party officials. The Forum was ranked 3rd on Twitter worldwide that day, and included presentations from Joe Trippi (Campaign manager for Presidential candidate Howard Dean); Lindsay Tanner, Minister for Finance and Deregulation; and Malcolm Turnbull, Leader of the Opposition – who also twittered on stage. The Forum also included demonstrations on social media tools led by Microsoft’s Nick Hodge and Martin Walsh, as well as a live blog. Images of the forum can be seen here. |
