Morning has Broken…Evening Working Perfectly Well
It is that TIME again. Daylight Savings Time (DST) changes can have a significant impact on business, and personal, performance if not dealt with proactively. |
In the world of computers effects can range from the incorrect time display on the computer clock, calendaring problems, through to changes in business critical services that are time dependent.
For most of Australia, DST starts this Sunday (4 October) when clocks are turned forward an hour.
Earlier this year, Western Australians rejected by referendum a proposal to extend their trial of daylight savings. As a result there will be no daylight savings in WA this year or for the foreseeable future.
Microsoft systems had a time change scheduled for the West on 25 October. This will no longer occur.
Microsoft is encouraging all customers to review their preparedness for DST changes particularly those based in Western Australia and those who have network connections to the West.
See the Australia 2009 Daylight Saving Planning Guide for more information.
