Microsoft supports 4th Austrade mission to the USA
Austrade and Microsoft have again partnered to accelerate the success of the local Australian software industry through the conduct of a trade mission to the USA. Last week' s mission focused on e-learning and looked at Australia's transition to a digital economy.
"Austrade and Microsoft have been working together to surface hi-potential software organisations that have the potential to address some of Australia’s biggest challenges", said Microsoft's Industry Development Manager David Sajfar on his return from the US.
"E-Learning is a key imperative as we transition to the digital economy and address the challenge of skills shortage, productivity and equal citizenship to all Australians. Australia has already established itself as the e-Learning hub for the Asia Pacific region and through trade missions such as this e-learning can also become a very lucrative global export", enthused Sajfar.
Over the past 3 months Austrade identified 6 hi-potential Australian e-Learning organisation to particiapte in the mission which was led by Nigel Warren, Australia's Consul General – Trade Commissioner, and Microsoft's Sajfar. Over 3 days the delegates were given exclusive access to global industry executives and had the opportunity to share their e-learning offerings. Delegates were provided with detailed briefings on Microsoft’s global e-Learning strategy, the product roadmaps and future innovation plans of Microsoft product groups and participated in discussions on how and where to enter global markets, including the lucrative USA e-learning market.
Previous Austrade trade missions to Microsoft have involved firms in the fields of healthcare, financial services & the environment . Future missions are proposed. "Microsoft looks forward to continuing to work with Austrade to address some of Australia’s greatest challenges as well as address global commercial opportunities for the Australian software industry", confirmed Sajfar.
