Defective HP Laptops

So, I just found out that the laptop that failed on me during my finals (while I was working on my MBA last year) was one that potentially had a defective graphics card, that HP knew about it, and they then potentially lied to me about why it was broken, causing me to part it out and throw it away.  I'm totally fuming right now about this -- it was a replacement for the first HP laptop I bought that had a case crack (and that was shocking me).  There's more info about the HP defects at the following sites, hopefully not everyone had the same experience I did (and is out over $1000):
