High Performance Computing=Admin + Dev
HI...
I am so proud and sorry, I have to tell the world:
Two of my guys are running a HPC event throughout Germany. You can find the details here
For Microsoft HPC is an admin thing which is true on the one hand. But being an old parallel computing guy myself I was just thinking that the application side is at least as important as the admin side. I think we really have an advantage regarding the management of large amounts of computers. In my opinion this is quite new in the area of HPC. Traditionally those machines were operated by the guys who programmed them. Most of those did some kind of "if it works it is ok" administration and I was no different.
We also really have an advantage on programming those machines. (I just saw a webcast about grid-computing and .net nearly one year old ;-)
But: Both is mostly unknown. So we have to tell the world.
So both an ITPro and a Developer Evangelist do the trip and we found some interesting partners to help us. And we have the best demo line up in this area I have seen so far ;-)
Check it out...
