Buying online

I'm looking around to buy a camcorder. I know what I want: a Sony DCR-TRV22 Handycam Mini DV Digital Camcorder.

But I'm not decided from where to buy it. I'm looking at https://shopping.com/xPC-JVC_DCR_TRV22_MiniDV_Handycam_ and I see the price range: $449.99 - $894.77 for buying it online. What I don't understand is how a company can offer the product with $449.99 while the price is $699.99 at Sony's website.

Are the two products exactly the same? If yes, how come they have this big difference in price? How do YOU trust a website when buying online? Do you buy online? Thanks for any advice.

Check the site out at Resellerratings.com. Usually pretty reliable.

Typically what I've noticed is that when a price is significantly under the MSRP, the item for sale is a refurbished item. Look for this in small print.

If buying a refurbished unit doesnt bother you, then the cost savings can definately make it worth it.
