It SEEMS to have started the next morning after the CA security suite did an automatic update when I turned off the computer the night before.

This admin shares fix is for win 2008. I remember back in 1999 that NT4 server workstation had similar shares. Windows XP pro is a derivative of NT. My question is: Are there any admin shares in my WinXPpro system that can/should be disabled for security reasons? And if so could I try this Fixit? If it dont work could it cause problems with my system if I use it?

I apply the Remove Administrative Shares Fix it for me. It says, this is not for your system? I also applied those steps in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/816524, add AutoShareServer double words parameters and set it to zero, not happening, it comes back up again when server restarted. Please help. Thanks
