A REAL monster
The folks on the BI Practices Team(now merged in with the SQL Server Perf Engineering Team) have spent the last 2 years working on a mondo BI reference implementation called Project Real. Working with data that started out form a real customer, hardware vendors and tools vendors they have built a great blueprint for a SQL Server 2005 BI System. Congrats to Dave, Len and all the others that helped over the last 2 years.

Does one have to use the Enterprise version of SQL 2005? I get an error when attempting to attach to the Warehouse sample mdf file using SQL 2005 Standard edition. Apparently Standard Ed. 2005 SQL does not support partitioning...? - Anonymous

JD,
It does use partitioning for the relational and the AS pieces but you can play with it on EE, Dev and Eval Editions, all are essentially EE.
