TechMela Continued

Techmela is taking place currently in Mumbai. This event combines 3 Microsoft events, namely MEDC, TechEDdand ITG, into one "uber-event".

Today I was scheduled to deliver one MEDC session for folks in the Embedded Device track (Componentizing Applications for XPe), however I alling ill. It was easy enough, merely introducing each speaker and giving a brief synopsis of what their session was about, while elaborating on the theme for the day (programming in the Embedded space, ranging from "lowest power" applications created in .NET Micro Framework using Microsoft Robotics Studio, Web Services in Windows Embedded  CE, touching on XNA Game Studio Express for hobbyist gamers, and ending with two sessions focused on XP Embedded). Overall it was pretty fun. Naturally the biggest turn-out was for the Robotics session becuase of the added attraction of an actual robot in the demo section (delivered by one of the Microsoft partners).

I did have the opportunity to meet and talk to one of our MVPs in India, Sanjaykumar Buragute. He mentioned some of the challenges specific to raising awareness of the XP Embedded platform among all segments in India (partners, devs, academia, sales) and I look forward to working with him moving forward and exchanging ideas on how we can grow our product in this region.

Tomorrow is the last day of the conference and I have nothing currently scheduled, but will check in with the organizer in case there are some additional opportunities to meet with partners and customers. I will also look at what is being offered and showcased in the exhibition booths.
