POS for .NET support extended to XP-Pro

From Windows For Devices, we learn that support for the POS for .Net feature has been extended from WEPOS to now include XP-Pro. No word yet on when or if this will be extended to XP Embedded.

If you're not familiar with WEPOS or POS for .Net i've copied some definitions below (or you can go to their FAQ or read the WEPOS whitepaper here (pdf) and browse the MSDN POS for .NET overview site with much greater details):

WEPOS- Windows Embedded for Point of Service is a version of Windows XP Embedded with Service Pack 2 optimized for retail point of service (POS) devices. The Windows Embedded for Point of Service platform is easy to use, includes technologies that enable present and future retail scenarios, and provides low lifecycle costs.

POS for .Net - A class library that is part of Microsoft Windows Embedded for Point of Service. The class library provides .NET applications with a simple and consistent interface for communicating with Point of Service (POS) peripheral devices, such as bar code scanners, magnetic card readers, receipt printers, and so on. In addition, POS for .NET includes a set of programming interfaces and base classes for vendors of POS peripheral devices. These interfaces and classes help vendors write software components, or service objects, for their devices. POS for .NET is Microsoft’s implementation of the industry’s Unified Point of Service (UPOS) version 1.8 standards, for the .NET platform.

Update: Here's the link to D/L "POS for .NET version 1.1".

Is it possible to download the SDK for building .NET apps against this from somewhere? I keep ending up going around in circles following the links on those references on the pages you have.

I just want to be able to use the POS for .NET stuff in our application to work against Bar code readers etc.
