Now that's one small power supply!
I noticed on Sunday that a company called mini-box is now selling a product called "picoPSU-120". I'll have to tell you - this thing really has me thinking about embedded systems and just how small they *could* get. :) They're touting it as the "World's tiniest 12V DC-DC ATX power supply".
This PSU is barely bigger than the ATX connector it is mounted to. The only issue I could forsee with this component is the fact that the circuitry is exposed; however, with the proper installation/mounting/etc any prying hands can be kept from touching it. As I am a parent who now has to cover his electrical sockets with those plastic covers that item is of particular concern to me. :)
Anyhow - if you'd like to find out more information about this component checkout the picoPSU homepage.

Removing the power supply connector from the motherboard would probably be a pain. - Anonymous

I don't see what the big deal is about this power supply. It does not accept 120VAC input - it takes only 12VDC input. This probably means that the circuit is a basically a 12V-to-5V switching buck regulator, and the 12V is passed through directly. So what's the big deal - that should be a small supply. - Anonymous

If i'm reading this correctly, I guess if I had a small enough (low power consumption) motherboard/proc, I could probably wear it now if I strap some solar panels to my back, like FlexCell (www.flexcell.com)
Now those small form factor PCs may be wearable since i no longer require the ATX power supply to be strapped to my back - Ouch! grin
