Kalpana's Bio
Hi, I am the Group Program Manager in the Embedded Windows Team. My team is responsible for planning and managing software releases on Embedded Windows. As part of that role, we work closely with members of Embedded Development and Test Teams. We also work extensively with various other Feature Teams within Microsoft to ascertain and plan the availability of Desktop Technologies on the Embedded OS. In addition, we work with our Embedded Marketing and Sales teams and engage in customer conversations where useful and necessary. I have been with the team and Microsoft since June of 2006.
My prior experience is mainly in Telecom. I worked for over 12 in a variety of projects for a major Telecom equipment manufacturer in the US. Subsequently I worked for a brief period with a semiconductor company in biometrics. My areas of expertise mainly included Unified Messaging, Voicemail, and VoIP.
I am Indian by origin, but have lived in the US for 16 years now. I recently moved to the Seattle area and find it very appealing from cultural, geographic and demographic perspectives.
My hobbies include reading a variety of non-fiction, travel, learning about various cultures, hiking and lately, learning to play the piano. I have a wonderful high energy dog who keeps me busy for the rest of my free time.
