Gina's Bio

Hi! My name is Gina Bentley and I am the Program Manager for Sustained Engineering in the Standard & Enterprise Devices (SED) product group (formerly Vertical Industries and Embedded Windows). I am originally from Seattle, Washington, but spent most of my school years in Boise, Idaho, where I attended Boise State University (home of the blue turf) and began my first foray into computers as an intern supporting the first LaserJet printers. I returned to the Seattle area in 1991 to go to work for Aldus (makers of Pagemaker desktop publishing software) and after a couple of fun years there, I went on to work at a few more interesting software companies on my way to joining Microsoft. During this time I developed an ingrained commitment to customer satisfaction.

I’ve been with Microsoft since the spring of 1996. Before my work with SED, I managed an internal web application and documentation team for Microsoft as part of both Microsoft Research and the Windows Division, providing tools for Microsoft development efforts. In June of 2006 I began working with Microsoft’s Embedded products, applying my technical support background to develop and drive our Customer Support planning, Servicing and Sustained Engineering programs in SED. I get involved early in our product development cycle to make sure we plan our servicing and support strategies and that we involve and prepare our CSS team members. After our products ship, I manage our monthly Security update releases and customer hotfix requests. I am continually looking for ways to improve our customer’s experiences with Embedded products.
