Do You DIG It?

Last week I was privileged to be able to deliver one of my MEDC 2007 breakout sessions to the members of WE-DIG in Seattle. My topic was Componentizing Applications for XP Embedded. It was a great experience to meet other people who have a keen interest in all things Embedded (Windows XP Embedded, Windows Embedded CE and Windows Mobile).

This group meets on the first Wednesday on every month (last night was an exception because of MEDC running last week) on the Microsoft Redmond campus and is is made up by people from a number of different companies, all with a common interest (either personal or business) in developing with Embedded or Mobile software. If you are interested in registering with the group and attending meetings you can contact them at their web site. They also maintain a forum for exchanging ideas.

At the beginning of the evening they had a section highlighted what is new in the market (hardware, chipsets, devices, news articles etc.) which I found very interesting. They ended the evening with pizza and a raffle of some interesting bits of hardware...and a coffee mug <grin>. I now also enjoy a WE-DIG polo shirt that they presented to me. Thank you, guys, for the invitation and opportunity to speak about XPe!

There are currently also plans to get a WE-DIG off the ground in China.
