app-v 4.6 in production
i was on an early field pilot of microsoft application virtualization and today my other managed computer received app-v 4.6 and a virtualized adobe reader.
now i’ve got a virtualized copy of adobe which doesn’t have to be delivered as part of the corporate image. i’ve also been piloting the click-to-run delivery of office 2010 (which leverages application virtualization) so the list of virtualized applications grew pretty quickly today:
pretty soon the office 2010 software will be 100% cached locally so it’s available whether or not I’m on the corporate network (and with direct access anytime i’m on the internet, i’m on the corporate network).
