OneNote 2007 SP2 - Now Available
While we were working on OneNote 2010 we also spent sometime improving the current version, OneNote 2007, and you will see this with service pack 2 (SP2) which is available on Tuesday 2009-04-28 in the morning (Pacific -8 GMT). More details will be up on the Office Sustained Engineering blog and direct links will be available there. However you should also see this update available via Microsoft Update.
For OneNote the key updates include:
- Improved SharePoint sync
- Fewer crashes
- Security improvements
- Fix for when you send an email from OneNote and the embedded files end up as images in Outlook instead of attached files (this bug really killed me)
- Added support for Japanese OCR
Additionally for the whole Office suite we some great updates:
- Outlook performance is greatly improved, you will really love this update just for this
- Support for OpenDocument Format (ODF) so you can edit/save/open odt, odp, ods files in Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Plus more!
I would encourage everyone to install this update as it will make your daily computing much better.
Also check out this Excel spreadsheet which shows all of the changes in this update: 2007 Office Service Pack 2 Changes.xlsx.

Daniel, After installing Office 2007 SP2 my Print to OneNote is gone. I tried running the OneNote 2007 Repair and it didn't bring it back. Any thoughts?Anonymous

I fixed this one. I did a search on the KB and found how to manually recreate the print driver here: <http://support.microsoft.com/kb/952216> Good to go and functioning.Anonymous

No luck here. There was a specific office security patch that killed my "print to onenote" and I guess the SP added it. I tried the above directions but I don't have the print to onenote port in my list.Anonymous

AJ, Thomas, it's a "kniw issue" as explained in KB953195. Easy enough to fix: Just run a repair for OneNote from the "Add or Remove Software" (XP) resp. "Programs ..." (Vista) applets of the "Control Panel". Good luck Rainald P.S. At times it's worth visiting the OneNote mewsgroup. I posted on the problem and the solution there an Apr. 29 ;-) ;-)Anonymous

Daniel, Since the installation of SP2 we have had issues with our SharePoint notebooks. The error we are getting is that we do not have correct permissions to sync our notebooks. Is there a way to fix this issue? We have tried removing the notebooks and re-adding them, but still come up with the same problem. Cheers, Cat Goode
