Managing Links and Attachments in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project
While you are making other changes to work items in Microsoft Project and Microsoft Excel, you can also manage links and attachments. Team Foundation Server Office integration features allow you to publish changes to links and attachments to the Team Foundation Server work item database. Additionally, to make sure that these project documents remain synchronized with your team project, you can refresh changes from the work item database back to your Microsoft Project or Microsoft Excel file.
Links and attachments are stored in the work item database, not in the Microsoft Project or Microsoft Excel document. Therefore, when you use the Edit Work Item Links and Attachments dialog box to edit links and attachments, your changes are applied immediately to the work item database.
Note
Until you save and publish your Microsoft Project and Microsoft Excel file, you cannot manage links and attachments in the file.
