Dynamic Query Sample

The Dynamic Query sample shows how to create LINQ queries dynamically at runtime.

To get samples and instructions for installing them

  • Do one or more of the following:

    • On the Help menu, click Samples.

      The Readme displays information about samples.

    • Visit the Visual Studio 2008 Samples Web site. The most recent versions of samples are available there.

    • Locate samples on the computer on which Visual Studio is installed. By default, samples and a Readme file are installed in drive:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Samples\lcid. For Express editions of Visual Studio, all samples are located online.

  • Press F5.

Demonstrates

This sample shows a technique for composing LINQ statements dynamically at run time. For more information, see the Dynamic Expressions.html file in the DynamicQuery sample directory.

See the Connectivity note found in the root directory for the samples project if you are have trouble running the database samples.

Note

Many of the LINQ samples require XML files and/or the version of the Northwind sample database that is located in the Data sample. If you install the Data Sample in the same parent folder as the other LINQ samples, the path for the XML files and database file will be resolved automatically. Many of the sample files also require the Object Dumper Sample project.
