You cannot use the Document constructor to create a new Document host item.
Starting in Visual Studio 2008 Service Pack 1 (SP1), you can create Document host items programmatically in an application-level add-in by using the GetVstoObject method of any Document object. For more information, see Extending Word Documents and Excel Workbooks in Application-Level Add-ins at Run Time.
Document host items cannot be created programmatically in document-level projects. For more information, see Document Host Item.
