ApplicationDatabaseFileGroup Class

Describes one database filegroup for a Notification ServicesApplication.

Namespace: Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Nmo
Assembly: Microsoft.SqlServer.Smo (in microsoft.sqlserver.smo.dll)

Remarks

Each Notification Services application has one database, which can consist of multiple filegroups. Defining these filegroups is optional.

If you define filegroups, one filegroup must be named PRIMARY. You can have additional filegroups to group additional data files together for administrative, data allocation, and placement purposes. For more information about files and filegroups, see Understanding Files and Filegroups.

If you want to alter the application database after creating the application, use the Microsoft SQL Server tools, such as SQL Server Management Studio.

Inheritance Hierarchy

System.Object
   Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Smo.SmoObjectBase
     Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Smo.SqlSmoObject
       Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Smo.NamedSmoObject
        Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Nmo.ApplicationDatabaseFileGroup

Example

The following examples show how to define a filegroup for a Notification Services application database:

ApplicationDatabaseFileGroup adb_fg =
    new ApplicationDatabaseFileGroup(adb, "PRIMARY");
adb.ApplicationDatabaseFileGroups.Add(adb_fg);
Dim adb_fg As ApplicationDatabaseFileGroup = _
    New ApplicationDatabaseFileGroup(adb, "PRIMARY")
adb.ApplicationDatabaseFileGroups.Add(adb_fg)
