Database.ActiveConnections Property

Gets the number of active connections to the database.

Property Value

An Int32 value that specifies the number of active connections to the database.

Remarks

The ActiveConnections property returns the active connections for the referenced database. Use the GetActiveDBConnectionCount method to return the total database connections on the instance of SQL Server.

This namespace, class, or member is supported only in version 2.0 of the Microsoft .NET Framework.

Example

'Connect to the local, default instance of SQL Server.
Dim srv As Server
srv = New Server()

'Reference the AdventureWorks database.
Dim db As Database
db = srv.Databases("AdventureWorks")

'Display the number active connections to the database.
Console.WriteLine(db.ActiveConnections)

Thread Safety

Any public static (Shared in Microsoft Visual Basic) members of this type are thread safe. Any instance members are not guaranteed to be thread safe.
