How to: Install Integration Services by Using Setup
SQL Server 2005 Integration Services (SSIS) can be installed by using the SQL Server Installation Wizard, or at the command prompt. The Installation Wizard provides a graphical user interface that guides you through each installation decision, and is the preferred method for most users. The Installation Wizard provides guidance for initial setup of SQL Server 2005, including feature selection, instance naming rules, service account configuration, strong password guidelines, and collation selection.

This topic and the other Integration Services installation how-to topics in this section focus only on installation options specific to Integration Services, but provide links to other topics that provide additional coverage of SQL Server installation.
To install Integration Services by using Setup
Start the SQL Server Installation Wizard as described in How to: Install SQL Server 2005 (Setup) if you are installing only Integration Services or if you are installing Integration Services together with SQL Server 2005 components.
If you want to add Integration Services to an existing installation of SQL Server 2005, see How to: Change Components in an Existing Instance of SQL Server 2005 (Setup).
Optionally, review How to: Install SQL Server 2005 (Setup) for a page-by-page description of the Installation Wizard, especially if you are installing other SQL Server components in addition to Integration Services.
On the Components to install page of the Installation Wizard, select Integration Services. Review Installing SQL Server Integration Services by Using Setup for information about other SQL Server features, such as documentation, samples, and development tools.
Selecting Integration Services also installs support for SQL Server 2000 Data Transformation Services (DTS), including the ability to enumerate and run DTS packages. For more information, see How to: Ensure Support for Data Transformation Services Packages.
Complete the Installation Wizard. After the Components to install page, the remaining pages of the wizard pertain to components of SQL Server 2005 other than Integration Services.
