How to: Set Up a Report Page (Report Builder)

To change the dimensions of the design area for a report, specify the settings you want to use in the Page Setup dialog box. The locale settings of the computer determine whether the dimensions appear as inches or centimeters. These page settings are saved with the report. Page measurement units are determined by the locale settings. The default margins are .5 inches on all sides (top, bottom, left, and right).

To set report margins

  1. In Report Builder design mode, click Page Setup on the File menu.

    The Page Setup dialog box opens.

  2. In the Margins area, specify the margin settings.

  3. Click OK.

To specify paper size

  1. In Report Builder design mode, click Page Setup on the File menu.

    The Page Setup dialog box opens.

  2. In the Paper size area, select the paper size.

  3. Optionally, if you are using a custom paper size, type the Width and Height of the paper size.

  4. Click OK.

To specify orientation

  1. In Report Builder design mode, click Page Setup on the File menu.

    The Page Setup dialog box opens.

  2. In the Orientation area, select the orientation.

  3. Click OK.

To specify grid settings

  1. In Report Builder design mode, click Page Setup on the File menu.

    The Page Setup dialog box opens.

  2. In the Grid spacing box, use the up and down arrows to increase or decrease the spacing between gridlines in the design area.

  3. Optionally, clear the Snap to grid check box if you do not want the report layout and text boxes to align to the gridlines in the design area.

  4. Click OK.
