Modeler role

Updated: 2008-11-14

Members of the Modeler role can create and configure data, workflow processes, and business roles in Planning Business Modeler. Users who are assigned to the Modeler role have unrestricted access to all business data within their scope, even if they belong to a business role that has restricted settings.

Note

Members of the Modeler role cannot create or delete applications or model sites or manage role membership.

On the Modeler Role page, users who currently belong to the role are listed in the User ID column next to the appropriate application or model site. Except for the Global Administrator role, which has a system-wide scope, administrative roles have either an application scope or a model-site scope. Application scope permissions apply for all model sites in the application. Model-site scope permissions apply only for the specific model site.

You must belong to the User Administrator role to add users to or remove users from the Modeler role. Before you can add a user to any Planning Server role, the user must first be added to Planning Server from the Users page.

To add a user to the Modeler role

  1. On the Modeler Role page, select the scope of the role.

    • To add a user who has application scope permissions, under Modeler Role: Applications, select the appropriate application.

    • To add a user who has model-site scope permissions, under Modeler Role: Model Sites, select the appropriate application in the drop-down list, and then select the appropriate model site.

  2. Click Add/Remove Users. The Add or Remove Users: Modeler Role dialog box opens.
