DeleteSite Method

The DeleteSite method of the Administration service deletes the specified site collection.

Parameters

Url   A string that contains the absolute URL of the site collection to delete.

Remarks

The account that executes a request implementing this method must be a member of either the local administrators group on the server or the Microsoft Windows NT security group account that is identified as the SharePoint Administrator Group Account.

In Active Directory account creation mode, the DeleteSite method does not remove user accounts from the Active Directory directory service.

Example

The following example deletes the specified site collection.
