In the Office Communications Server 2007 R2 consolidated pool topology, the following server roles and services are collocated on the same computer as the Front End Server:

  • Address Book Service

  • Address Book Web Query Service

  • Application Server

  • Application Sharing Server

  • A/V Conferencing Server

  • Conference Announcement Service

  • Conference Attendant

  • Group Expansion Service

  • IM Conferencing Server

  • Outside Voice Control

  • Response Group Service

  • Telephony Conferencing Server

  • Device Update Server

  • Web Conferencing Server

In the Office Communications Server 2007 R2 consolidated edge topology, the following services are always installed on each Edge Server:

  • Access Edge service

  • A/V Edge service

  • Web Conferencing Edge service
