Cannot add the specified assembly to the global assembly cache: Microsoft.Practices.SharePoint.Common.dll.

 

Had this issue for a while.   Some said restart IIS, Powershell etc

I closed Visual Studio restarted IIS that was open and it worked.

Posting it here just in case some one else facing it.
