“Say Cheese!” Nantwich Cheese Company smiling with new financials and operations packaged solution

My family used to run a Cheese Shop in East Sussex, and having had many summer holidays working there, I consider myself a little bit of cheese expert.  So, when I recently came across a new Microsoft Dynamics customer who was a real cheese expert, I couldn’t resist finding out a bit more.

“Blessed Are the Cheesemakers!”  Monty Python

Nantwich Cheese Company are a market leader in producing grated, block and flavoured cheese for wholesalers, food service suppliers, caterers and retailers,  as well as food manufacturers. They pride themselves on quality and innovation in everything they do.

After years of managing all aspects of their business - accounts, stock control, final assembly and dispatch - with Sage Line 50 and a complex series of Excel spreadsheets, Nantwich Cheese Company had outgrown their accounting software.  They were looking to improve stock visibility, reporting and ensure their growth ambitions would be fully supported by their financials and operations software.

Whilst their business was healthy and expanding, Nantwich Cheese Company were keen not to overstretch their financial resources or add too much strain to their cash flow. They needed a solution that would allow their business to become more efficient and give them greater insight, but that wouldn’t break the bank.

They obtained 3 proposals from 3 different vendors. One of those proposal was from Microsoft Partner, Technology Management, and was for Dynamics NAV.  Nantwich Cheese Company were impressed by the food industry expertise demonstrated by Technology Management, as well as the costings and the speed of deployment. In addition to this, they especially liked the usability of Dynamics NAV and the integration of the packaged solution with Microsoft O365. Being based in the cloud meant no investment in expensive hardware or IT infrastructure.

“I particularly like the fact that Dynamics NAV is ‘windows friendly’ and it looks and feels like a Microsoft program - just like Microsoft Word or Excel. Being hosted on the Microsoft Azure platform is perfect for us - it allows us to grow, and will grow with us.” Luke Morgan, Commercial Manager at Nantwich Cheese.
