Security Bytes 01 in Silverlight

Technorati Tags: Security,Security Bytes

One of the pieces of advice I got from some people that had seen the video was to try out using Silverlight streaming. So after installing Expression Encoder I encoded the file, uploaded to the streaming service at https://streaming.live.com. I wont go through the process, you can check it out here at https://www.viawindowslive.com/Articles/SilverlightStreaming/YourvideotoSilverlightStreaming101.aspx

And here is the video...

Please let me know which format works better for you...

Hey, our first partnership is cool... I like the the formats of the video. Think Soapbox is good, but if you can make Silverlight app look nicers, it would be better. Hey, looking forward to doing more...

Glad you found Bronwen's encoding article useful. I've been playing with the various encoding formats, as your limited to 22MB I have found that if you keep your video around 5min and drop the frame rate to 12 fps you can get very good picture quality. In the Settings panel -> profile -> video, you can expand that section down, change the frame rate to 12 fps. This lets you up the resolution which benifits screen captures. Have a play with the settings to see what works for you. The big feature i see with Silverlight is the ability to put metadata into your video and have the interface react, for example your blog can have the links appear as HTML as they are mentioned in the video, or code samples or images. Have a look at this: http://silverlight.net/learn/learnvideo.aspx?video=263 John.
