Chicago multi-school hackathon draft rules
Here are the draft rules for the Microsoft Recruiting Hackathon. They are in draft form and are subject to change. Let me know if you have any questions, comments and concerns.
Rules:
- individuals who are at least 18 years of age as of April 5th 2014
- Teams may up to 5 competitors or less
- Only five members of team are eligible for prizes (and the teams have to figure out how they’ll distribute prizes among themselves)
- 75% of team members must be enrolled college students
- No existing source code (built before the event) can be used in a project
- Public libraries such as JQuery and such can be used
- No existing demos packaged with software or hardware are eligible as the basis for entries for prize consideration
- Rules may be amended if the need arises to ensure fair conditions for all competitors
- Winners will be able to pick one item of their choice from what is left in the prize pool
- Teams can only win in one prize category
