Are you taking advantage of Microsoft Canada Cash Back Programs?

Did you know that from time to time Microsoft Canada offers partners the potential to earn incentives through local campaigns ("cash back programs") for selling strategically aligned products and services to our shared customers?

Local campaign structures can vary widely from campaign to campaign and you should refer to the Terms and Conditions (“T&Cs”) of each individual program prior to participating to ensure that you meet the necessary eligibility requirements.

Types of Campaigns

Two of the most common types of campaign structures that we run are: “Dollar Per SKU” campaigns, and “Frequency” Campaigns.

Dollar Per SKU campaigns

These campaigns are structured to pay on a “per sale” basis and the T&Cs will provide the eligible SKUs as well as the corresponding incentive to be paid (sometime referred to as a “rate card”).  The goal of these campaigns is to drive sales of strategic products, or to provide an incentive for selling premium edition products instead of standard edition products.  Keep an eye out for minimum and maximum quantities as well as eligible license types (eg. Open Licensing) which will be documented in the T&Cs.

Frequency campaigns

These campaigns are strategically focused on increasing the number of transactions, or number of customers, that a reseller is processing within a set period of time.  The goal of these campaigns is to drive scale in our ecosystem and incent partners for doing the work required to attract new customers to their existing customer base.  Refer to the T&Cs for each individual campaign to find out the products involved as well as transaction thresholds for receiving an incentive.

How do you participate?

You can always find an up-to-date list of campaigns in the "Latest Offers and Incentives" section of our news board page available at www.microsoft.ca/newsboard and I encourage you to check back often in case new campaigns are released.

The registration is a 2-step process and you must have an active Microsoft Partner Network (MPN) ID to participate.  For information on how to join MPN please visit https://mspartner.microsoft.com/en/ca/Pages/Membership/overview.aspx

Step 1: Register for the Partner Investment Engine (PIE)

The first step in registering for a local campaign is to gain access to the PIE portal which we use to present the registration pages for each individual campaign.

  • Visit www.microsoftpartnerinvestments.com and select “I do not have an access code”

  • Provide the required information (make sure you select Canada)

  • An access code will be emailed to you

  • Once you receive your access code, revisit www.microsoftpartnerinvestments.com and select “I have an access code” and enter the provided access code when requested.

Any issues with registering or logging in to the PIE platform should be directed to our support alias piesupca@microsoft.com.

Step 2: Register for the campaign(s)

Now that you have access to the PIE portal, you’ll need to log in to your PIE account.

  • Select the “Partner Sales Incentives” tile

  • Select the campaign you wish to register for

  • Provide all the required details including a previously sold agreement number (note this agreement number is so that we can identify you in our sales system. It does NOT need to contain an eligible sale for the campaign you are registering for).

    • The preferred number to enter in this field is the "Microsoft Invoice Number".
  • Agree to and digitally sign the T&Cs (download a copy for your records).

  • Check your email for an “approved” registration email.

You can check on the status of your registration at any time by visiting the portal and viewing your dashboard, or by sending a request to piesupca@microsoft.com.

Happy Selling!
