    I heard that the 70-486 exam has been updated recently to cover MVC5, VS2013, EF6, and Azure. Is there going to be an update to this book, or can someone point us to some information about this update. Thanks

    Why is this book no longer available to purchase from Microsoft Press? When is the updated version coming out?

      This original Exam Ref was very out-of-date, so we've stopped selling it. We've also cancelled an updated version of Exam Ref 70-486. Instead, we will offer a book called ASP.NET Core Application Development: Building an application in four sprints. We’ll map that book to the exam to show the coverage it has. Because this exam takes a lot of programming skills, we wanted to create a book with code and examples that would help more than an Exam Ref in this case. The new book isn't showing online yet, but look for it in the next few weeks.

            The book you are referring too is about ASP.NET Core, the exam is not. I also would like to know how this book maps to exam 70-486. Are you sure this is the book we need?

        Does it mean that people who were willing to take the 70-486 certificate, should be advised to wait until after the new book release? In the certification exams until then, will the present exam reference be sufficient? I mean if the new book is officially (by Microsoft) the preparation of that certificate, that should imply that we should wait... ASP.NET MVC 4 is a significantly heavy topic...
