BrightPlanIT Azure event on August 2nd in Buffalo, NY

Here's your chance to learn how to run Windows Server 2012 in the cloud on Windows Azure! Join us at a free Microsoft IT Lab for hands-on demos and interactive discussions with Microsoft technical experts. You'll work closely with the newly released Windows Azure Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and also get the opportunity to get hands on with Windows Server in your very own cloud-based lab, which you can set up for free!

Attending an IT Lab is the perfect way to elevate your skills and propel your career to new heights. Bring your own machine and work through it yourself to get the most out of this Microsoft IT Lab. This is a hands on environment where you can learn Windows Azure and Windows Server 2012, then expand on that knowledge by taking additional labs on some of the best features available in Windows Server 2012. During this seminar, we will cover:

  • Overview of Windows Azure IaaS - Creating new Windows Server 2012 virtual machines on Windows Azure
  • More Azure Lab options: Setup networking between multiple servers on Windows Azure, download Azure built machines, and more
  • Other labs to keep learning and progressing with either Windows Azure or Windows Server 2012

This half-day event will start out with a short presentation where you will learn about Windows Server 2012 and Windows Azure. Then, we will quickly jump into getting down to the business of building your public cloud infrastructure. After you get your first server up and running on Azure, you will have time to play with the technology - so you decide if you want to get more hands on with Windows Azure or get deeper with Windows Server 2012 in your second lab!

To participate in the hands-on lab sessions, you will need to bring your own computer (laptop preferred) with the ability to login to the Windows Azure web portal and remote control to a virtual machine running in the cloud using Remote Desktop Client. We recommend a laptop or a Surface Pro but other devices that meet the requirements of being able to RDP to a server are also fine. Don't forget your power cord!

REQUIRED: You will also need to bring your Live ID (Microsoft account) credentials. If you do not have one, please create it in advance by visiting here. You will also need a Windows Azure account. If you do not already have one, you can sign-up for a free account from https://aka.ms/IaaS. Please note that this requires a credit card. You will not be charged unless and until you switch to a pay account at some time in the future. A Windows Azure account is REQUIRED for this hands-on event. It can take up to 20 minutes to setup your account, so please do it in advance.

OPTIONAL: If you have an air card or Mifi, bring that too!

Your actual system specs may limit your lab options.

Breakfast will be provided:

4455 Genesee St, Suite 104
Buffalo, NY 14225

Who should attend: Business and technology decision makers that are looking for both product knowledge, as well as real world implementation experiences. This will help enhance your business with the next generation of software from Microsoft and others.
