Windows Workflow Foundation Beta 2 is here!
I won't blab much, but Beta 2 is here and it's hot. Once again, I worked in the doc's with primary responsibilities being the tutorials and sample content (not the actual samples themselves though). The tutorials have been seriously revamped since Beta 1 using a new task based format with the ability to start on any single task without having to go through the entire tutorial. Many more tutorials are in the pipeline. Here's the info you need (note: this is hot off the press and was just posted by Michael Zammuto. If you get a page not found, the content is still replicating. Just try back later. It'll show up):

Is WWF included in Winfx or is it seperate at this point? I thought with the December CTP, it was all one big install. Is that not correct? If it is correct, does that mean there are updated betas for WPF and WCF?

Either way, congratulations, I know you guys have been working hard to get this stuff out. - Anonymous

Fred,
The January CTP will include the updated versions of WinFX and is something you'll want to take a look at.
Brad,
Yes and no. A lot of the conceptual material is the same. Where you will see the biggest difference is coding against the API. You can find a change document at: http://home.members.winisp.net/blog/Beta1%20to%20Beta2%20Change%20Document.doc and also be on the lookout for a WebCast by Paul Andrew on February 9th that will cover the changes made on Beta 2. - Anonymous

Great blog!
I'm new to WF and I've been looking for 2 days for a change document - finally foundit here...
As a suggestion:
Why not put a link to the Change Doc and the HOL on windowsworkflow.net - that's where I was looking for it :-).
I've been trying to implement the
"Viewing a Workflow's Definition in Xoml" with the Beta 2 but all I get is the workflow definition - no activities.
Could you pls. give an update on hand?
Thanx for the infos!

I'm having a hard time getting the Workflow Beta 2 software installed correctly. I've tried several times on two different machines with no luck. This is what I installed and the order:
1) WinFX RC
2) Visual Studio 2005 (full release version 8.0.50727.42)
3) Windows SDK
4) Development Tools for WinFX
5) VS 2005 Extensions for Windows Workflow Foundation
Number 5 is the one that is giving me problems. When I run it, it lauches a maintenance installation program for the SDK, and there are no additional options for installing the 2005 extensions. Does that mean it thinks I don't have VS 2005 installed? It seems like it would display an error message if it couldn't detect my 2005 installation. This is really irking me and any help would be appreciated. - Anonymous
