Microsoft Response Point
One of the problems with most telephony systems is that small business don't want to spend their time configuring and repatching phones when someone moves from desk to desk. They have enough to worry about without having to become PBX technicians as well.
To that end, a small team in Redmond has been working on a solution and today we announced Response Point and three vendors we will be working with to bring this solution to market.
This natty little telephony system has a number of features including an automated attendant, speech recognition, voicemail, voicemail to email, incoming call popup's on your desktop and integration into Outlook.
This is an interesting and exciting piece of news and it I would love to get my hands on one of these to play with :-)
