ISV Architect Evangelist Newbie
My first entry on my MSDN blog :-).
Exactly two weeks ago I started a new and exciting position as a ISV Architect Evangelist at Microsoft. After 11 years at Siemens it is a great experience to join a dynamic team of great individuals to help Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) to realize their full potential using the latest Microsoft technologies. What I realized in the first two weeks on the job is that the pace in this group seems to be faster and the environment seems to be more dynamic than I experienced it at Siemens.Nevertheless, there are also many similarities between my old and new job. For example, I was mainly working as in-house consultant for different Siemens Business Units and during that work I identified the Software Factories paradigm as a methodology that has the potential to elevate Software Development to the next maturity level. This is also true for ISVs in certain scenarios. Obviously I am not promoting a silver bullet here but Software Factories, in my opinion, can help to bring software development closer to an engineering discipline. I am currently wrapping up an article on a prototype I built last year, with great results to make the business case using quantitative results we collected, so stay tuned......
I will blog more on this site, and check also the team blog https://blogs.msdn.com/usisvde/ where I will start blogging too :-)
You can find more information on Software Factories in the book I wrote together with Christoph Wienands:
