20 minute Vista..

I've been asked to put together a 20 minute demonstration of Windows Vista and Office 2007 (better together).  Twenty minutes isn't very long, especially when you've got loads and loads of great stuff you could show.  This is what I'm going to present:

Simplify how people work together:

  • Connect to a Wireless Network (ease of use and a first look at User Account Control)
  • A look at shared calendars in Outlook, side by side and overlapping)
  • A brief look at Windows Meeting Space

Manage and Protect data:

  • Insert a USB memory stick and show how Group policy can block its installation (no important data going missing)

Find, Use and Search for Information (FUSI):

  • Search for a program on the Start Button
  • Search for a doucment on the Start Button
  • Search for content in your Inbox (and All mail Folders) in Outlook
  • Search for content in your Calendar in Outlook
  • Search for content in Windows Explorer, demonstrate Tags
  • Perform an advanced search that uses content, tags and author - save search

Reduce Threats and Costs:

  • Browse to https://www.woodgrovebank.com - demonstrate Anto Phishing
  • Change the default settings in Internet Explorer (to be insecure), close and restart IE - Settings are reset to defaults
  • Search for 'notification area' in Help & Support.  Run through the Guided Help

What do you think - what would you show?

My 20 mins are on Tuesday - I'll let you know how I get on.

Dave.

Thanks Chrissy.  My demo went extremely well - slightly over 20 mins (only slightly).  Feedback was great - people especially liked the Find, Use and Share Information (FUSI) piece - it really shows off some great functionality..
