BizTalk Server 2006 Launch - Confused?
Over the past couple of weeks I have been chatting to several internal colleagues, partners and customers about the confusion around the timing of the BizTalk Server 2006 Launch. I'll set that straight right here! Visual Studio 2005 (Whidbey) and SQL Server 2005 (Yukon) are being launched on Nov 7. The BizTalk team decided that it would be great chance to coincide the announcement of the BizTalk Server 2006 release at that launch and as a result is participating (great visibility for BizTalk). BizTalk 2006 *is not* actually launching on Nov 7. In fact, that timing will probably be close to our Beta 2 milestone. BizTalk 2006 is actually RTM'ing in Q1 next year (as its name suggests.. BizTalk Server 2006!). Hope that helps somewhat!

Hi Chris,
Unfortunately, it is indeed cristal clear! I'd still like to see the new features in action. Where can I get the B1 / Ctp's versions?

Pierrot... don't worry about the CTP, Beta 1 is the version you should be playing around with! You can sign up for it and download it at http://www.microsoft.com/biztalk/evaluation/bts2006beta.mspx Enjoy! - Anonymous

This was really confusing. I am currently working on a project that was planning on using BTS 2006 expecting it to RTM on November 7th. After finding out this information, we now need to re-evaluate our options. I wish Microsoft would have made this more clear on the main launch page instead of making us dig into someone's blog to learn this. - Anonymous

Eric, sorry to hear it made a mess of the project plans. It was very unclear. Hopefully we will make some adjustments for the future and learn from this experience. - Anonymous

If Q1 is still going to happen, there are only 16 biz days left. - Anonymous
