I currently work as a Product Technical Specialist in the Windows Server pre-sales arena for Microsoft UK.  On a daily basis I talk and present to customers and partners about the Windows Server System, covering topics such as Microsoft in the Data Centre, Mission Critical Windows, Server Consolidation and Virtualisation - spending most time on the latter two subjects (as of June 2005).

I've been working in IT for 18+ years, starting with Mainframes (with punch cards initially!), Unisys systems (now known as ClearPath) and with highly available technologies from Tandem and Stratus.  For the past 10 years I've had a Microsoft focus from MS-DOS through to the current Windows versions.   My last job before joining Microsoft was for a global IT services and solutions company as a Systems Architect in the Consulting Services UK division.  Since 2000 a great deal of my time has been spent designing and dealing with Windows Server consolidation on to large systems as the co-hosting or scale platform of choice.
